#LetsFixTheCountryTogether is an admission of failure by Akufo-Addo - Alhaj Naziru
I have noticed a departure from the insulting #fixyourself campaign by Government sopkes persons in response to an earlier #fixthecountry campaign by teaming Ghanaians, this time around, the Government spokespersons and supporters have rejected out rightly their earlier crass arrogance of Power and adopted psuedo humbling campaign with the hashtag #letsfixghanatogether, I must admit however that, this new hashtag has finally succeeded in drowning me in my tears.
Perhaps, my fear of cluelessness on the part of the current Government to the anger and grief of Ghanaians has deepened by such patapaa but a lazy approach to addressing the real issues.
Clearly, there is no end in sight to the complex, self inflicted, man made problems militating against the Economic, infrastructural and social growth of our Dear country Ghana with the current managers still in control.
Now, what does the Nana Addo/Bawumia led NPP Government mean when they say let's fix the country together?
Is the new call to fix the country together an admission of the fact that they have exhausted their already scanty but malicious ideas and now require the support of all to fix the country moving forward, or the duo have suddenly come to the realization that, Ghana is too big for two of them to carry, thus, the need for all hands on deck to resolve the worsening social and economic situation of the country? which is which? we need to know.
Lets refresh our memories a bit, Is the current NPP the same group of people who boycotted the 1993-1997 parliament to satisfy their whims and caprices? (Harmless questions) did this same NPP boycott Mahama's Synchi economic consensus that developed the home grown solution to the myriad of challenges stagnating our economic progress?
Fellow Ghanaians, is it the same Nana Addo/Bawumia led NPP Govt- that squeezed our nose to spite our face when we complained about their Government appointing mainly family and friends into positions of trust,- today saying we should build the country together? I am lost, please find me.
If the answers to the above questions is yes, then Ghana is in crisis. The country is in deep crises because the Government we are mounting pressure on to fix the country does not even know the country has a problem, yet, it is trying to respond albeit in vian, to the call by Ghanaians to fix the country.
For me, this Nana Addo Bawumia led NPP Govt have lost their temerity to call for building this country together because it rejected earlier warnings and advice by Ghanaians for consensus in putting this country on the right path.
Indeed, courtesy demands that one humbles himself to admit wrong doing before asking for forgiveness and support, but it appears for so long as the current first and second Gentlemen of the land are concern, eating the humble pie is a taboo. To them,(Nana and Bawumia) admitting that they made promises that are unrealistic and impossible to achieve is as Haram as pork is to a Muslim. It should be noted that, previous Governments in Ghana's current forth republican dispensation had to eat humble pie at various times to get this country working, Former president kufour ate his humble pie when he failed on his promise to use less Ministers than his predecessor, the Late President Mills equally did same on one time premium for Health insurance and JDM admitted and vowed not to promise an end date for Dumsor until he is able to fix the canker. Why is this Govt arrogantly rehashing the same empty rhetoric and nonexistent deliverables over and over again as the fulfillment of their promises to the good people of Ghana whiles Ghanaians are still oblivion to the supposedly delivred promises?
I asked the above question because the suffe…
