Maxwell Mahama, the NPP Communication Director for Sunyani East has described the NPP in the region as a 'shadow of darkness' amidst incessant accusations and vitriolic attacks amongst NPP members in the region. The NPP after losing five of its Parliamentary seats to the National Democratic Congress in the 2020 General Election has resulted in growing trend of blame game at the hierarchy.
In a write up that has been cited by masemtvgh.com, the vociferous Communication Director, Maxwell Mahama in a sharp contrast, having engaged in wars of words with his Regional Executives, especially with his regional chairman, who has consistently tried to put their abysmal performance at the door steps of government appointees is the region has called on his national executives to step in to resolve this impasse. Maxwell Mahama believed that his party Regional leadership failed in discharging its duties and that the failure of the NPP in the region ahould be taken by the party leadership and not government appointees in the region. Read below the write-up by Maxwell Mahama.
Bono Region has been, over the years, the trailblazer in the NPP.
It was an emblem of the iconic elephant family in so many respects. Bono was the yardstick for which many Regions were judged.
The scene today is a far cry from what used to pertain to this bustling Region as far as the NPP was concerned.
For a while now, Bono Region has been home to internal wrangling, petty scuffles and chaos.
Peace has been a scarce commodity for the zone. Sanity is a long way away due to this opprobrious and tumultuous squabbling amongst party leaders and supporters.
It is about time calm was made to dominate these worrying events. The leadership of the Party must come in to restore peace lest the party sinks into oblivion in a few years to come.
One cardinal thing I have learnt from my few years in this establishment is the fact that we shouldn’t be cozy with one another before we can work together.
Camps are inevitable phenomena in politics, but if they are allowed to mar the ultimate goal of capturing political power, it becomes very problematic.
I am appealing to the leadership of the NPP at the national level to, as a matter of urgency, see to the resolution of whatever impasse that has resulted in these battles.
The glamour that used to be associated with Bono Region is fading away and if steps are not taken to restore peace and harmony, posterity would not be kind to us all
The NPP in the Bono Region must accept that their leadership couldn't match that of the NDC. Bono and Ghana voted for change in the 2020 General Election.
ReplyDeleteI believe it’s about leadership
ReplyDeleteThe bono NPP leadership were nothing but bunch of empty barrel with plan, vision or direction of purpose and that could not match that of the Vibrant, strategic and purposeful leadership of the NDC in the region but moreover Maxwell accept that you were also a greedy and selfish person
