Our mothers and wives now put on beautiful clothes because of Free SHS - Appiahene Peter

A member of the Regional Communications Team of the ruling New Patriotic Party in the Bono Region has said that women have beautiful clothes because of Free SHS.

Dr Appiahene Peter, who is a lecturer at the University of Energy and Natural Resources, the first Public university in Sunyani that was built by the National Democratic Congress in the year 2011, made this comment on Friday, May 7, 2021 on a local radio station, NimdeÉ› Fm 95.1 during the news paper discussion segment.

The NPP Bono Regional Communication Member opined that mothers and wives were not putting on beautiful clothes to church under the erstwhile Mahama administration because of the economic hardships they were made to go through but that situation, according to him, has changed for the better.

''We all go to church and if you go to Presby, you will now see how beautiful our mothers and wives dress because of Free SHS. We are now able to buy beautiful clothes for them to put on and that has made our mothers and wives go to church in their numbers'' Mr Appiahene Peter stated.

According to the NPP communicator, ''you know women are not like us who can wear one jeans trousers for months without any difficulty'' and to him, the reason for the women to put on beautiful clothes can only be attributed to the NPP flagship program, the Free SHS.

''Previously, our mothers will have to struggle to get money to pay for admission fees for their children at the SHS but that burden has been taken care of by the Akufo-Addo government. There is NaBCo and other social interventions that were introduced to cushion Ghanaians to have a better living as compared to what happened under the Mahama administration''.

The NPP Regional Communication Member was commenting on #FixTheCountry movement on the Social Media calling on the Akufo-Addo government to put up the necessary measures to arrest the series of economic and social crises that they face recently.
